“…Go into the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15 NIV
Your station or ministry has an important mission: to share God’s message and for that message to reach as many hearts as possible. Spring is here and now is a perfect time to reassess, reorganize and reflect on what can help you carry out this mission. We’ve compiled a list of a few items you may want to consider for your station or program’s spring-cleaning checklist:
Mop Up Your Website. Remove old content. Refresh your staff pages. Check the links to your live stream, social media channels and donation methods and make sure everything is working well. Has your station address, phone number or email address changed? Let’s update it. Your website is a door for your listener to reach you; let’s make sure it’s always open for them.
Dust off Your Email List. That pile of email addresses of your listeners sitting on your computer is valuable. It’s a communication line to God’s people who are waiting for you to reach out. Clean out old email addresses that have bounced from previous sends. Develop relevant content for your audience and start sending them emails. To get started, it could be something as simple as an introduction email that introduces your station, your team and simply says you are here for them. Give them the phone number to your prayer line or include a link to your livestream so your audience knows how to reach out to you.
Open Your Windows to Know Your Audience. Who is your listener? And when was the last time you got to know her? Is your listener asking to engage with you in a different way? Is this through a podcast? A station app? Or through regular email communication? What songs does she really want to hear? Does she want more prayer on the air? Invest in RESEARCH to get to know your audience. You may be surprised to see where you can minister to her in her busy, hurried life.
Shine Up Your Talent. End of year planning is typical for many organizations but what about planning throughout the year? Spring is a great time to gather your on-air talent and find out what they need and where they could use extra support. A spring retreat for on-air talent led by a trained TALENT COACH or STORYTELLING TRAINING may be a way for you to touch base with your on-air team and refresh their tools for more effective on-air connection with your audience.
We have INDUSTRY EXPERTS and RESEARCH that can help you in many of these areas. If you need more tailored help, let’s get together and see how we can help you spring forward into deeper heart connection with your listeners. We’re here to help you Grow Audience.
