Give Them More than the Address

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness . . . 2 Timothy 3:16 NIV

Imagine someone recommending a great restaurant but only giving you the street address. Helpful? Sure. Better would be an invitation to come inside and enjoy a meal.

That’s a reminder for Christian radio. In Listener Advisory Panels (small listener discussion groups – always eye-opening!), listeners consistently notice when Scripture is missing—and they want more of it. Not just chapter and verse but the actual, life-giving words God has given us.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, with prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 NIV

A brief passage woven between songs or during a break can have a lasting impact. Often, one verse is exactly what a listener needs to hear at exactly the right moment.

Sharing Scripture isn’t just another programming element—it’s central to our mission. The encouraging news? It’s also something listeners are asking for.

Let’s not stop at the reference. Let’s open God’s Word, read it aloud, and allow its truth to speak directly to the heart yearning to hear it!
