CHUCK’S PICKS: “The Evangelicals – The Struggle To Shape America” by Frances Fitzgerald. It’s the history of the evangelical church in America. The 50 or so pages on Billy Graham are worth the price of the whole book!

JAN’S PICKS: If you haven’t discovered Eric Barker, Jan thinks it’s time. Barker pulls research into everyday efforts and stands your thinking on its head. His blog is bakadesuyo.comand his recent best-seller is Barking Up the Wrong Tree.

  • CHUCK’S PICKS: Adrianisms: The Collected Wit And Wisdom Of Adrian Rogers. It’s about 700 short, pithy Biblically-truthful sayings from Dr. Rogers. Do yourself a favor and get a copy.
  • JAN’S PICKS: Wonder what the best leaders do differently?  Marcus Buckingham challenges our thinking in this video. WATCH it now.
  • CHUCK’S PICKS: Chuck suggests that you should gift yourself the gift of a half hour to watch this precious, soul-touching, thought-provoking movie. And then another half hour to talk with God about it. Thank you, Bill Sammons, for sending this our way. CHECK it out.
  • JAN’S PICKS: Jan picked up the Tom Rath latest—of Strengthsfinder 2.0 fame—Are You Fully Charged? It’s a great addition to the Strengthsfinder approach, focusing on three keys to energizing daily life/work. You’ll see some of the ideas filtering into Jan’s work with Strengthsfinder and teams.
  • You Version Bible app. They continue to improve what was already outstanding! My new favorite place is the audio version of the NIV UK edition. The British guy who reads has more emotion – excitement when it’s something exciting, anger when Paul is angry, awed when God is working – than any version I’ve ever heard. If we’re supposed to make the profound sound profound, this guy does it.
  • And Jan’s been working through Michael Hyatt’s latest—Your Best Year Ever. Even if you are not into resolutions, he’s got a solid view of planning.
